Midgets

For the Midgets the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines remained undefeated with a 21-6 victory over the Pioneer Jr. Panthers  and the Allegany Gators also picked up their 4th win against no defeats as they beat Olean Huskies 35-15.  Offensively the Gators were lead by Jace Thompson with 3 touchdowns; two rushing and 1 receiving. Quarterback Eli John added a rushing touchdown as well as the connection to Thompson and Logan Hardy added a rushing touchdown and a reception for a two-point conversion. Coach Travis Aderman added that “while Jace Thompson leads the defense in tackles and sacks”, the toughness of the defense, which as allowed only 27 points through 5 games, is in the overall team effort.  “The Huskies brought it against a tough Gators squad. This midget team is just a great group of boys that know how to work as a team.  The line blocked amazing and that’s what’s needed to score TD’s. Super proud of this group.”

The Cattaraugus-Little Valley Youth Timberwolves midget team delivered a strong performance on their home turf at Catt-Little Valley School, defeating the Cuba-Rushford Rebels 29-7. Head Coach Devin Huber’s squad showed remarkable teamwork on both sides of the ball, leading to a decisive victory.

The Timberwolves’ offense was unstoppable on the ground, gaining 200 rushing yards. Lleyton Brown, Parker Schmitt, and Brecken Huber each found the end zone, showcasing a balanced and dynamic attack. The offensive line, anchored by Gabe Geurin, Jack Griffith, and Alek Sawyer, was instrumental in creating opportunities for the rushing game, maintaining their blocks throughout the night.

Defensively, the Timberwolves were equally impressive. Roger Phearsdorf and Blake Jones combined for eight solo tackles, while the team forced two fumbles, keeping the Rebels’ offense in check.

Coach Devin Huber commended his players for their collective effort, saying, “Our boys came out as an entire unit and left it all out on the field. Everyone had a chance to get their fair share of time this week. We were very happy with all of our players, first and second-year. Our offense stepped up with multiple players contributing in key roles, while the line held strong throughout the game. We have made it our mission to reinforce that games are won and lost on the line on both offense and defense this year. This continues to be a special group of kids, who have a lot of heart and drive both on and off the field.”

The collective energy and intensity the Timberwolves brought to the field propelled them to victory, delivering an all-around impressive team performance that bodes well for the rest of the season.
