Olean Star – OLEAN- The Tri-County Arts Council presents “An Artistic Journey, From watercolors to oils and back again” by Barbara Fox, from July 12 – August 30 in the Peg Bothner Gallery, 110 West State Street in Olean, NY. The Tri-County Arts Council will hold a public reception this Friday July, 12 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Catering will be provided by Chef Lorina John, from LoMade Meals.
The gallery will highlight Fox’s transition from watercolor to oil paints and back through paintings, notes and sketches. Fox noted, “Many artists are happy and successful focusing on one particular medium or subject-matter. I’ve never found that for myself, and ventured through flowers, still life, portraits, and landscapes, with watercolors, charcoal, and oil paint. Maybe I will never find the pot of gold, but I am having a wonderful time learning, experimenting, and facing challenges.”
Barbara Fox is recognized for her accomplished realism in a variety of mediums including graphite, charcoal, watercolor and oil paint. Her artwork is exhibited and collected internationally, receiving numerous awards, and has been selected for publication in fine art publications.
