OLEAN — Oiler’s Baseball at Bradner Stadium, live music and fireworks. It doesn’t get any more Fourth of July than that.
The first pitch at Bradner Stadium Thursday is at 1:30 p.m. as the Oilers face the new Salamanca Lizards in a New York Collegiate Baseball League match-up.
The Oilers lead the NYCBL, a wood bat development team affiliated with Major League Baseball, in attendance.
Oilers players were collecting contributions for Thursday’s fireworks show at the stadium. The players were on Constitution Avenue, West State Street, Wayne Street and Front Street.
The Oilers took over responsibility for the fireworks show from Olean Professional Firefighters this year.
The field will open to the public at 5 p.m.
The band New Wave Nation will perform on stage at the stadium beginning at 7:30, followed by fireworks starting about 9:45 p.m.
Several food trucks will also be at the stadium on Thursday including ZET’s Italian Ice, Fowler’s, 3 C’s Catering, Red Horse Grill and Sweet Ride.
Fireworks are also scheduled Thursday night outside the Seneca Allegany Casino. The show is expected to start about 9:40 p.m. In the event of rain, the fireworks will be postponed until Sunday night.
There are no on-site public viewing area, but area residents have many favorite places to watch from surrounding areas.
