The Salamanca girl’s tennis team opened their season last night on the road against Jamestown. Although shorthanded, the girls played tough and battled for points during many back and forth games. Senior Jasmine Smith picked up her first career singles win at first singles in an exciting 2-1 deciding match. The team has a busy week with 3 more matches Wednesday through Friday.

In Singles action Falconer’s Mayla Brainard beat Lina Chauhdry 6-3, 6-2, and Riley Farrugello downed Natalie Snyder 6-2, 6-3. Falconer also swept the Double Matches as Rachael Swanson and Elena Barie beat Rachael Dulmas and Diyanah Manar 6-1, 6-2, Emily Green and Mia Vandevelde beat Braelyn Eaton and Serenity Durphy 6-0, 6-0, and Zoie Centi and Hailey Koch out lasted Zynah Rafi and Caidence Hutchinson 6-0, 7-5. Olean faces off against Salamanca on Wednesday September 11th.
