Sewer line repair to close East State Street Wednesday; expect delays

Motorists may want to avoid East State Street on Wednesday.

Starting at 6 a.m., East State Street will be closed from   Barry Street to Fulton Street due to a sewer line repair, the Olean Public Works Department advised. 

There will be a traffic detour in place while the work is being performed as detailed below.                                                       

Westbound traffic will be directed to use Fulton Street to East Green Street and proceed west to South Union Street. South Union Street Northbound will carry traffic back to State Street.

East bound traffic will be detoured down South Barry Street to East Green Street, and then east to Fulton Street and north on Fulton Street to East State Street.

There will be no on parking along the detour route while the work is performed.  

Motorist are encouraged to use alternate routes while work is being performed.  Major traffic delays are expected.
