DUKE CENTER, PA – Seeing their fifth North Tier League opponent of the year, the Otto-Eldred volleyball team kept their untouched record intact, breezing past Northern Potter in three sets.
The Lady Terrors opened the night with a strong-armed 25-16 set one victory, one that would ultimately prove to be the closest of the evening. In the second, O-E battered NoPo to a 25-12 victory before sealing the night with a final 25-15 sweeping win.
Jahden Smith came away with 11 digs and four kills, while Ayla Van Scoter finished with 11 digs and seven kills. Rayel Hakes tallied a team-high 13 kills, followed by Emma Button’s 24 assists.
Portville 3, Southwestern 0
PORTVILLE, NY – Following a four-day hiatus, the Panthers put themselves back in the win column with a clean sweep over Southwestern 25-18, 25-11 and 25-13.
Ava Scanlon was scorching from the service line, coming away with 12 aces alongside her three kills and two digs. Gaitley Maiolo ended up with a team-high nine kills and five digs, while Ana Haynes tallied 20 digs, three aces and two assists.
Up next, Portville will take on Dunkirk in hostile territory on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Boy’s Soccer
Fredonia 2, Olean 1
OLEAN, NY – Despite knotting the game just before the end of the first half, the Huskies were unable to find another equalizer in the second, ultimately falling to 2-3 overall.
After nearly 25 minutes of deadlocked play, the Hillbillies opened up the action with an unassisted score from Seth Davidson. Spending the next 20 minutes searching for a rebuttal, Olean found their answer in the final minute, with Jack Harris punching in a goal off an assist from Alex Jones.
However, late in the second half, Fredonia raised the ante once more, pulling ahead 2-1 in the 77th minute off a score from Ben Brautigam. The Huskies had no answer.
Olean will return to the pitch on Friday when they travel to see Randolph at 4:30 p.m.
Allegany-Limestone 2, Dunkirk 0
ALLEGANY, NY – Playing in their second CCAA Division II game of the season, the Gators tacked on a second consecutive win, ousting Dunkirk from their home turf with a clean-sheet victory.
A-L next sees Cuba-Rushford during their Saturday showing. They will host the Rebels under the lights at 7 p.m.

DUBOIS, PA – Traveling to face the Beavers, the Owls suffered their sixth loss of the season.
Girl’s Soccer
East Aurora 3, Portville 1
EAST AURORA, NY – A late start for the Panthers translated into the team’s third loss of the season as they were unable to unlock their offense.
The Blue Devils drew first blood, scoring just three minutes into the contest off a goal from Aurora Balikowski that would go uncontested for the remainder of the half. Although Portville punched one in to start the second, East Aurora countered late in the game, punching in two goals in the 63rd and 70th minute to seal the game.

Olean 3, Salamanca 2
SALAMANCA, NY – Taking on their next door neighbors, the Warriors suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Huskies.
Olean picked up wins early, with Lina Chauhdry (6-3, 6-1) and Natalie Snyder (6-3, 6-4) sweeping both the first and second singles. However, in the doubles, Salamanca finally found some traction.
Mimi McComber and Sage Huff tacked on the Warriors’ first win of the night with a 6-2 and 6-4 win over Rachael Dulmus and Tiana Maine, before Keira Bova and Fiona McKune snuck out a second doubles win in the do-or-die third (6-4 win, 6-3 loss, 7-6 win).
Finally, in the third doubles, Olean secured the win, seeing Diyanah Manar and Addie Wright beat Brenda Bova-Redeye and Ella Crouse 6-3 and 6-3.
