Liberty Renewables is excited to advance Hemlock Hollow Wind in
Cattaraugus County. The project is expected to feature up to 19 wind
turbines on privately-owned land within the Towns of Allegany, Olean, and
Portville, totaling 95 MW of generation capacity— enough to power around
17,000 homes annually.
The project will connect to existing local transmission infrastructure
and is one of the first renewable energy projects in New York State to
be co-located on land used for oil and gas extraction. Hemlock Hollow
Wind bridges legacy and modern power infrastructure in a region that has
embraced energy innovation.
Since 2019, Liberty Renewables has worked alongside New York communi
ties to develop projects that solve real-world energy challenges. By part
nering with residents and local leaders, we’re focused on strengthening
local economic development and building longterm value for the region,
while delivering the clean energy the public demands.
Hemlock Hollow Wind is expected to bring tens of millions of dollars
in investment to the region, supporting local governments, schools,
emergency services, residents, businesses, and participating landowners.
Key benefits are anticipated to include:
• Significant community and municipal funding
• Residential energy bill savings
• Workforce development and education support
• Construction and long-term employment opportunities
• Local business and contractor opportunities
• Increased regional economic activity
These benefits are designed to ensure that local residents, businesses,
and institutions share directly in the project’s long-term success.
