Olean – Edna M. George, of Olean, passed away Tuesday (July 28, 2026) at the Olean General Hospital.

Edna was born in Olean on February 21, 1946, the daughter of Raphael and Cora (Castle) Stark. She was one of ten children. She married Norman “Mickey” E. George Jr. in Olean on July 22, 1963, who predeceased her in February 2008.

Edna was a manager at the Arco Campbell Oil Station and then went on to work for AVX on their assembly line. She loved playing bingo, especially loved and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, their annual trips to pick blueberries, baking, and the time she spent fishing with her husband.

Edna is survived by her four children, Robert (Stephanie) George, Ronda Pletl George, Tina George, Thomas George, Sr.; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Her husband and a brother predeceased her.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday (August 1, 2026) with a funeral service to follow at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.  Burial will be at Mt. View Cemetery.
