Heidemarie W. O’Connor, 86, of Salamanca, NY died Sunday morning, July 19, 2026 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born December 6, 1939 in Steinach, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Babette Dietrich. She was married March 2, 1966 in Little Valley, NY to Stephen V. O’Connor, who survives.

She was a graduate of Calmersgarten School, Germany.

Heidi had been employed with the former Park Pharmacy in Salamanca for over 20 years. She previously had been employed at the Parkview Supermarket in Salamanca. She was a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed her flowers, feeding birds and critters, and traveling with her husband seeing many parts of the world. She was an avid reader of German language novels, and politics. Heidemarie was a friendly and compassionate person. She was always interested in others, generous, and ready to help anyone. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: two sons, Thomas H. O’Connor and Michael J. O’Connor, both of Salamanca, NY; one brother, Werner Spieler, Windsheim, Germany; one granddaughter, Sunny J. O’Connor, Buffalo, NY.

As per Heide’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
