Eldred- Joyce Ann Campbell
Joyce Ann Campbell, age 96, of Barden Brook Road, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Cuba Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 26, 1930, in Red House, New York, to Everett and Betty Jones Piper.
On January 23, 1954, Joyce married Robert “Bob” Campbell, and together they built a life and home on Barden Brook in Eldred. Bob preceded her in death in 1981. Joyce was also predeceased by her parents; her longtime friend, Dick, in 2003; and her sister, Phyllis, in 2017.
Joyce attended the Eldred First Church of God and was a member of the Turtle Clan of the Seneca Nation of Indians. She had a joyful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved shopping and was always on the hunt for a good bargain—often returning home with a “new” blouse, only to discover she already had one just like it. She especially treasured time spent with her family, creating memories that will last for generations. Joyce enjoyed going to the Senior center in Eldred playing Bingo, camping, and traveling, with many and memorable trips to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Las Vegas. She was also a life-long auxiliary member of the American Legion Eldred Memorial Post 887. She participated in many euchre tournaments and enjoyed playing Skip-Bo for hours with her family. A good ham and leek dinner was a favorite. She adored her sweet little Yorkie, Daisy. Joyce will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the deep love she had for her family.
Joyce leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her children, Mary Kay (Steve) Bump, Bobbi (Campbell) Ellman, Dean (Debra) Campbell, and James (Mary) Campbell, and her grandchildren Mindy Campbell, Andy Campbell, Michelle (Mark) Buchanan, Beth (Josh) Schmezer, Michael Ellman, Adam (Aimee Lippert) Ellman, Stephen Bump, Heather (Brett) Wattai, Cody Campbell and great grandchildren, Emily, Sydnie, Everett, Michael, Aida, Bray, Piper, Grey, Gesa, and Ayasha. She is also survived by her sister, Jean (Ted) Galutia; her brother, Gene Piper of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 646 East State Street, Olean on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the Eldred First Church of God, 142 S Main St, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 12:00pm where the Rev. Roger D. Laktash will officiate.
