OLEAN — In an extremely high-scoring affair, Randy’s Up The River defeated Ice Cold Pitches 32-21 on opening day of the Olean Women’s Softball League (OWSL).
Randy’s, which recorded a 15-run fourth inning, was led by Kayla Shoemaker, who finished 6-for-7 at the plate.
Also in the win, Nicole Calbi had five hits, Amy Campbell and Tierney Hemphill each had four hits, Jaleesa Ard-Sledge, Jessica Weinman, Kaelyn Arnold and Molly Eddington had three hits apiece and Shania Griffin and Kim Clayton tallied two hits.
Ice Cold Pitches was led by Liz Owens’ four hit night.
Ashley Erskine, Brandi Buttino, Lacey Cassidy, Erin Bell each had three hits while Bryn Berlin recorded two hits in the loss as well.
Bamboo Strategy 15, KSW Photography 12
OLEAN — In a tight contest, Bamboo Strategy edged out a win over KSW Photography.
Cas Mills led Bamboo Strategy, going 3-for-4 with a triple. Kimmy Martinelli and Alyssa Johnson went 3-for-4 in support.
Leading KSW Photography was Lily Bushnell, who went 3-for-4 with two triples. Molly Cooper and Mandy Bushnell finished 2-for-3 in the loss as well.
Halfway Inn 19, McKan Trucking 11
OLEAN — Scoring 16 runs over the final four innings, Halfway Inn notched victory over McKan Trucking.
Makenna Pancio led Halfway, tallying five hits, six RBI and scoring two runs. Brooke DeYoe (3 hits, 4 runs), Emily Horth (2 hits, triple), Jenna Hadley (3 hits, double) and Aliyah Cole (3 hits) assisted in the win as well.
Kamryn Cook (3 hits, double, triple), Molly Kate McCullough (2 hits) and Mia Welty (3 hits double) led McKan Trucking.
Allen’s 20, Pitches Be Crazy 2
OLEAN — Scoring 20 runs on 28 hits, Allen’s grabbed a lopsided win over Pitches Be Crazy.
Peyton Young stood out in the win, going 4-for-4 with four runs and a triple.
Other notable performances for Allen’s included Alexa Schoonover (3-for-5), Eva West (3-for-4), Jamilyn Giberson (3-for-4, double), Gina Chaffee (4-for-4, 3 runs), Beth Mills (3-for-4) and Casey Cummings (4-for-4).
Kalyn Slater and Amie Slater each went 2-for-3 in the loss.
