ALLEGANY — The Right Thinkers will meet Monday, May 20, beginning at 5 p.m. at The Hall on Fourth Street in Allegany. There is a meet and greet from 5-6 o’clock.
The theme of Monday’s discussion is “The State of Health Care: Is it good for America?”
The panel includes:
• Dr. Kevin Watkins – Cattaraugus County Public Health Director and Member of over 13 Committees, Boards, and Foundations.
• Cattaraugus County Legislator Kelly Andreano of Olean, chairman of the Human Services Committee and a speech pathologist for the Olean City School District.
• Dr. Zahid Chohan – A board-certified vascular surgeon practicing in the Olean area since 1981 and member of the county Board of Health.
• Olean Pharmacist Lisa Worth, owner and pharmacist of Worthy Pharmacy.
The official meeting will begin at 6 ‘clock with a prayer given by Rev. Jon Ward from North Park Wesleyan Church in Cuba, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem.
The June meeting will be on Monday, June 17. The theme is “Agriculture, Farming, Forestry, Solar and Wind Farms.” Panelists for that meeting include:Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., chairman of the House Agriculture Committee; former State Sen. Catharine M. Young, now executive director of the New York State Center of Excellence for Food and Agriculture at Cornell in March 2019; State Sen. George Borrello, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and former Allegany County Legislator and businessman Norman Ungerman.
