Bradford baseball rallies past Brockway; Smethport softball erupts for 19 runs

BROCKWAY, PA – The Bradford baseball team collected 10 hits pulled away late with a 8-4 win over Brockway.

Haviland started for Bradford allowing just 1 earned run (3 total) over 4 innings of work while Reese threw 2 innings in relief facing the minimum. 

Wallace highlighted the offense with 3 hits and keyed the 3-run seventh inning for the Owls with an RBI double. Haviland knocked in a run on a ground out before Parisella capped the inning with a ribby single. In the bottom half, Brockway pushed a run across but could not get the tying run to the plate.

BROCKWAY, PA – Bradford softball failed to push a run across and fell 10-0 to Brockway.

Brockway did its damage early, putting up four runs in the first and second innings and adding 2 more in the third to cap the scoring. 

Bradford went down quietly over the final three innings, only scattering a few baserunners.

Smethport 19, Cameron County 4

SMETHPORT, PA –  Smethport softball erupted for 19 runs in three innings and rolled to a 19-4 win over Cameron County.

The Hubbers broke things open immediately with 10 runs in the first inning, then piled on eight more in the second to put the game out of reach. 

Szuba, Tanner, Tronetti, Reed and Miller all picked up 2 RBIs each.

Otto-Eldred 7, Galeton 0, suspended

GALETON, PA – The contest between the Lady Terrors and Lady Tigers was suspended mid-game due to weather and field conditions. It will be resumed on Wednesday, May 6 when O-E hosts Galeton. 

At the time of suspension, the Lady Terrors led Galeton 7-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
