2026 Big 30 Charities Classic selection release #1

The Big 30 has begun unveiling the names of players who have committed to participating in the upcoming 2026 Charities Classic. The following is the first full release sent out by the selection committee:

Ian Chamberlain

Portville Central School

Height: 6’1” — Weight: 285 Lbs.

Offense: T – Defense: DT

Ian plans to attend college and play some type of sport. After college he would like to become a fire fighter and EMT. He lists his honors and awards as weight room champion, Honor Roll for 3 years, and High Honor Roll three years. He wants to play in the Big 30 game because most of his family who played football in New York played in the Big 30 game. He wants to be able to play in the Big 30 game so he can beat last year’s record against Pennsylvania. His best memory while playing football was playing at the Buffalo’s Ralph Stadium his junior year alongside his brother Henry. His hobbies include weightlifting, farming, wrestling, and riding ATVs. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Stephen Neal.

Grady Byroads

Ellicottville Central School

Height: 6’2” — Weight: 230 lbs.

Offense: G – Defense: DT/DE

Grady will attend Alfred State College for construction trades and continue to play football and also volunteer with the fire department. He lists his honors and awards as Honor Roll Academics, WNY Highschool Athletics, Dick Gallagher Lineman of the Year, Trench Trophy Nominee, and Heart of a Champion Character Award. It has always been a sign that I was one of the best in our area, and it’s one last time for me to play with teammates and other kids I have grown up playing with and against. Grady’s best memory while playing football was his interception against Randolph to help send us to Highmark Stadium to play a game. His hobbies include volunteering at Ellicottville Fire Department, shooting trap, golf, being an EMT, and camping in the woods with friends. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite players are Spencer Brown and TJ Watt.

Joe Mest

Olean High School

Height: 6’3” — Weight: 185 lbs.

Offense: QB – Defense: S

Joe plans to attend college and pursue a degree in Business. He lists his honors and awards as two-time First Team All Player, two time All WNY Punter, two time OHS Athlete of the Season, Fifth Team All State, three-time Conolly Cup Player of the Week, Basketball Sectional Champion, and National Honor Society. Joe wants to play in the Big 30 game because he says it has always been an inspiration of his to represent his state and school, and to follow in his uncle and brothers footsteps. His best memory playing football was beating Depew his junior year and the locker room with the boys after wins. Joe’s hobbies include sports and being outdoors. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Josh Allen.

Ty Kosinski

Portville Central School

Height: 5’11” — Weight: 250 lbs.

Offense: G/C – Defense: DT

Ty plans to get a job in heavy equipment operation, which he loves, and to make money. His honors and awards are listed as High Honor Roll, Scholar Athlete, Big 30 All-Star, Lineman of the Year, CCAA First Team Offense and Lineman of the Year, all WNY 1 st team Offense and Lineman of the Year, Heart of a Champion, and Trench Trophy Nominee. Ty says that he always wanted to play in the Big 30 game from a young age. He thought it would be a neat thing getting seniors from NY and PA to play one more game against each other. His best memory playing football was scoring the game winning touchdown against CSP to go to the playoffs. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing slow-pitch softball with his Dad. Ty’s favorite football team is the Miami Dolphins and his favorite player is Bo Jackson.

Dylan Doty

Pioneer High School

Height:6’1” — Weight: 225 lbs.

Offense: G – Defense: DE

Dylan describes his future plans after graduating as getting a job in the Welding Industry. He lists his honors and awards as Honor Roll, Student of the Month, Most Improved Lineman, 2nd Team All-WNY as a Junior, B1 All League, 8-year Football Graduation Trophy. He wants to play in the Big 30 game because he feels it is a good way to get noticed and just a cool celebration for all his hard work. His best memory while playing football was the friendship/brotherhood and Coach Duprey. Dylan lists his hobbies as hunting, fishing, farming, and welding. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Bruce Smith.

Landon Learn

Franklinville High School

Height: 5’11” — Weight: 185 lbs.

Offense: RB – Defense: OLB

Landon plans on going to college to major in Physical Education and to play football if possible.  Landon says his future plans are to become a Physical Education teacher at a high school. He wants to play in the Big 30 game because he feels that this is a huge opportunity not many people get, and he feels that he can’t pass up this offer being able to play one more game of high school football. His best memory while playing football was playing a game at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo and taking a kick return to the 40-yard line. Landon lists his hobbies as playing sports like football, basketball, and baseball, and hanging out with his friends. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Isaiah Smith

Kane Area High School

Height: 5’10” — Weight: 210 lbs.

Offense: T/G – Defense: DL/DE

Isaiah plans to go to college and become a physical therapist and continue his car detailing business. He lists his awards as All Region Offense, All Region Defense, Lineman of the Year, and AB Honor Roll. He wants to play in the Big 30 game because he loves football. He wants the opportunity to meet new coaches, make new friends, and play some football. Isaiah’s best memory while playing football was watching my running back run 97 yards to take a 4th quarter lead in a thriller game. His hobbies are football, basketball, baseball, golf, weightlifting, and video games. His favorite football team is the Vikings, and his favorite player is Antonio Brown.

Tysin Boschert

Kane Area High School

Height: 6’5” — Weight: 170 lbs.

Offense: Kicker

Tysin plans to attend college with an undecided major and play football and participate in track. He lists his awards as a 2-time UAVSL All-Star in soccer and a 1-time District All-Star. He wants to play in the Big 30 game to be able to play with all his friends one last time. His best memory while playing football was going 8 for 8 with 3 touchbacks in one game this past season. Tysin  says he likes to hunt, fish, hang out with friends, and ride four wheelers. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Josh Allen.

Jacob Retterer

Warren Area High School

Height: 5’11” — Weight: 215 lbs.

Offense: C – Defense: DE

Jacob plans to attend college and get his Environmental Degree. He lists his awards as First Team All- Region, Ironman Award for putting in effort all the time and always showing up, and  Lineman of the Year. Jacob wants to play in the Big 30 game so he can play with the best in the region. Jacob’s best memory while playing football was doing a 3×3 line in the mud and snow during his freshman year. He lists his hobbies as hunting, fishing, shed hunting, shooting in his trap league, and woodworking. His favorite football team is the LA Rams, and his favorite player is Aaron Donald.

Malakai Zucal

Cameron County High School

Height: 5’8” — Weight: 168 lbs.

Offense: RB – Defense: S/OLB

Malakai is planning to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology for Forestry Technician. He lists his awards as Region All Star, Region Defense MVP, Big 30 All Star, Team Offense MVP, and National Honor Society. He wants to play in the Big 30 game for another chance to play the game he loves. Malakai’s best memory while playing football was being able to play the games with the team. He lists his hobbies as sports, friends, family, skiing, and dirt bike riding. His favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys, and his favorite player is CeeDee Lamb.

Owen Gill

Coudersport High School

Height: 5’9” — Weight: 290 lbs.

Offense: T – Defense: DT

Owen plans on attending Alfred State College to study HVAC. He lists his awards as Letter Award in football and Youth Trap, 3-time Lineman of the Week, game MVP, sportsmanship Award his Senior Year, multiple State Champion in Youth Trap Team, He wants to play in the Big 30 game to help raise money for local charities. Owen’s best memory while playing football was scoring a touchdown his senior year. He lists his hobbies as football, shooting trap, and fishing. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills.

Carson Cooney

Coudersport High School

Height: 5’11” — Weight: 215 lbs.

Offense: G/T – Defense: DE

Carson plans to attend Slippery Rock University for Safety Management with a minor in Coaching. He lists his awards as Region 4 Defensive Lineman of the Year. He wants to play in the Big 30 game to represent his school and play with the other D9 athletes. Carson’s best memory while playing football was beating Cameron County in the playoffs his Sophomore year. He lists his hobbies as trap shooting, hunting, and fishing. His favorite team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Josh Allen.
