John D. Bartoszek, 76, of Salamanca, NY, died Sunday morning, February 15, 2026 at Buffalo General Hospital following a long illness.

Born April 14, 1949 in Salamanca, he was the son of the late John and Lorraine Smith Bartoszek. He was married September 23, 1972 in Salamanca to the former Christine Dry, who survives.

He attended Salamanca High School.

He had been employed as a driver with UPS for over 20 years prior to his disability.

John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and infectious laugh. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing fast-pitch softball. As a sports enthusiast, in his later years, he was an avid NY Yankees, NASCAR, and Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving besides his wife are: two sons, Jay Bartoszek, Chad (Denise) Bartoszek, both of Salamanca, NY; two grandsons, Brandon Bartoszek and Tyler Bartoszek, both of Salamanca, NY; a sister, Dianne Herrick, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Debra Crowley.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Trela as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
