Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski delivered hundreds of hand-made Valentine cards from area school children to elder-care facilities Friday.
“The Assembly Valentines for Seniors Program is a great way to bring the generations together and to recognize, celebrate and appreciate the folks who have done some much to make our community the wonderful place it is to live,” Sempolinski said. “It’s also a wonderful way to spread some joy during a long, cold winter.”
Elementary school students at Allegany-Limestone Elementary School, Hinsdale Central School and Genesee Valley Central School made the valentines.
“I want to especially thank all the students who made Valentine cards and their teachers for helping make this Valentines for Seniors Program such a success,” Sempolinski said in a statement. “Great communities raise great kids and this is proof.”
Sempolinski delivered the Valentine cards to residents at The Pines in Olean, Eden Heights and Field of Dreams. All three elder care facilities held Valentine’s Day celebrations Friday.
