Robert A. Hooper, 80, of Kennedy, NY died Monday, February 9, 2026, at Greenfield Healthcare, Erie, PA following a short illness.
Born January 8, 1946, in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Cecil and Edna Bachman Hooper.
He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1964.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1964-68.
He had been employed with Crawford Furniture, Falconer, NY for over 25 years. After his retirement, he owned and operated the former Goober’s Restaurant in the Salamanca Antique Mall.
He was an avid Buffalo Sabres and Bills fan, and enjoyed antiquing.
Surviving are: a daughter, Anne (Andres) Melendez, Jamestown, NY; four granddaughters, Isabella Melendez, Jamestown, NY, Ashley (Phillip) Starkweather, Sinclairville, NY, Abigail (Alex) Hooper-Dirling, Jamestown, NY, Jazmine Rodriguez, Jamestown, NY; four grandsons, Nicholas Melendez, Andres “AJ” Melendez, Joshua Rodriguez, Elliot Rodriguez, all of Jamestown, NY; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy (John) Krestiz, Silver Creek, NY; a brother; several nieces and nephews.
There will no visitation.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
