Lucinda G. Fairfield Wilson, Loving Wife
Hinsdale- Lucinda G. Fairfield Wilson passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Cuba Memorial Hospital, with loving family by her side, after a short illness.
Born in Hinsdale on January 9, 1951, the daughter of Kenneth and Ellena Stuart Fairfield. In July 1991, she married her true love, Bernard M. Wilson, who survives.
Lucinda was a graduate of Hinsdale Central School. She went on to work for the Castle Inn Motel and then the Mother House in Allegany, where she met the love of her life, Bernard. She also worked for daycares at Immanuel Day Care and the Cuba Grange.
She loved when she and Bernie would go for car rides, eat out, and sit and watch the traffic go by. Lucinda followed many sports, including bowling and tennis, and loved baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds and the NY Yankees. She was also a true Buffalo Bills and NASCAR fan. Lucinda found joy in watching the numerous birds come to her bird feeder. She was a proud member of the Maplehurst Baptist Church, attending when able, volunteering, and enjoyed reading her bible. Lucinda was kind-hearted and would do anything for anyone at any time.
Lucinda is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Bernard; her daughter, Clara (Tom) Notaro; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings, Janet (Fred) Witt of Webster, Anita Trieskey of Haw River, NC, Audrey Phelps of Newark, and Elisabeth Noll of Hinsdale, Loran (Patricia) Fairfield of Bessemer City, NC and John (Laura) Fairfield of Fargo, ND; several nieces and nephews;
She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Ellena, and sisters, Elaine Matthews and Audrey Phelps.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 East State Street, Olean. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maplehurst Baptist Church, 1349 Route 446, Hinsdale, with Pastor Jonathan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Hinsdale Cemetery.
