Olean- Jack Ewing Porter “Loving Father & Grandfather”
Jack Ewing Porter, 88, of South 9th Street passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Jack was born on September 10, 1937, in Olcott, NY and was the son of Richard and Isabel Voght Porter. Jack was the husband to the late Mary R. “Bunny” Porter who passed away on January 2, 2015.
A devoted husband, father, papa, and friend, Jack’s quiet strength and patient nature left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He found joy in simple pleasures – cheering on the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees with unwavering loyalty and spending time outdoors feeding the neighborhood squirrels.
Jack is lovingly remembered by his children: son, Jack E. Porter Jr., daughters, Melanie (Mark) Barta and Amanda (Mark) Martin. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Allison (Brandon) Whittle, Nicole Porter, Lucas Barta, Madeline Barta, Christian Barta, Maggie Martin, Ian Martin, and his great grandson, Benjamin Whittle.
Those who knew Jack will remember him as a kind and gentle soul. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Bunny, and a brother, Charles Porter.
