Palm Bay, FL- Sara Ann Dieter “Loving Mother & Grandmother”
Sara A. Dieter of Palm Bay, formerly of McCrea Brook Road Eldred, PA passed away on April 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 28, 1929 in Portville and was the daughter of Floyd A. and Grace M. Happell Head. On December 11, 1948 at the First Baptist Church she married John A. Dieter where they were long time residence in Allegany and move to Eldred, PA where she moved to Pfafftown, NC and onto Palm Bay, FL.
Sara worked for the Allegany School District as a cook and head dietician, and she also taught adult sewing education until her retirement in about 1993.
Sara joined the Order of the Eastern Star in 1969 and served as Associate Grand Warden in 1998 while a member of Electa Chapter #84 in Olean. She was a member of Odosagih-Boneka-Electa Chapter #84 as a result of a merger. Sara was later demitted to Tyler Chapter #97 in Portville. After moving to Florida, she joined Harbor City Chapter #265 in Melbourn, FL.
Sara loved to travel in her RV visiting California, Alaska, Florida, and Texas where she walked over into Mexico. She also had a Base camp at Sunny Hill in Bolivar. Sara liked to dig up precious gems throughout the states and have jewelry made.
Sara is survived by; a sister, Edith (Hoard) Cornwall of Olean; 2 daughters, Lynda (Fred) Bradt and Rhonda Sue Dieter both of Palm Bay, FL; 3 granddaughters, Renea Welch of Palm Bay, FL, Noelle Ours and Lance Ours both of Olean; a great grandson, Jonah Hephen of Palm Bay, FL and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Sara was predeceased by her husband John A. Dieter; a son, John Daniel Dieter; her parents; sister, Mary Jane Graty; a brother, Lawrence Bruce Head; and a sister-in-law, Louis Head.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at which time a memorial service will be held beginning with the Order of the Eastern Star Tyler-Mizpah Chapter 97 followed by the Rev. Chad M. Sayer Pastor of the Christ United Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will continue after the service until 5:00 pm. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery.
