Olean- Sandra R. Tarr “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister”

 Sandra R. Tarr of 516 N. 7th Street, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Olean General Hospital.

 Sandra was born May 28, 1943 in Olean and was the daughter of Floyd Anthony and Jessie Bell Rogers Spino.  On July 5, 1974 she married her loving husband of 48 years, Leslie P. Tarr, Jr. who predeceased her on November 4, 2022.

 Sandra was a 1962 graduate of Olean High School.   She worked for ACME Electric in Allegany for 42 years, retiring when they closed. After her retirement she was a teachers aid at Boardmanville Elementary School for a period of time.  Sandra worked hard her whole life and raised her family.  

Sandra loved her family, especially her grandchildren, she will be remembered by them as being “The Super Gorilla Glue” of the family. Sandra and her husband loved taking day drives and going out to eat.  She enjoyed all sports especially attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid New York Yankee’s and Miami Dolphins fan.

 Sandra is survived by; 5 children, David C. Bennett of Olean, Russell (Amy) Tarr of Lenoir, NC., Lucinda Turner of Williamsburg, VA., Lisa Ann (Donald) Carpenter and Matthew (Tarah) Tarr both of Olean, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lillian (Calvin) Smith of Eldred, PA, Mary JoAnn Shine of Franklinville and Patricia (Dennis) Titus of Salamanca and Bubba the wonder dog.

 Along with her husband, Leslie, Sandra was predeceased by; her parents; a daughter, Brenda Dominessy; 3 siblings, Alberta Peters, Joseph Spino, Judith Grace Ellison; a grandson, Zachery Tarr.

Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held.  Pastor Adam Stein will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
