Deanna L. Chase, 83, of Great Valley, NY died Tuesday evening, October 7, 2025 at the Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Houghton, NY following a short illness.
Born September 28, 1942 in Lancaster, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Geraldine Zimmerman Hicks. She was married to Russell Chase, who predeceased her in 2005.
She was a graduate of Ellicottville High School, Class of 1960.
She was a veteran of the United States Army in the Medical Corps, serving stateside.
Deanna had been employed with Larimer Norton & Sons in Ellicottville, NY, for over 21 years, retiring in 1990.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, crafts, reading, and watching her TV shows. She was a member of the American Legion Post 659, Ellicottville, NY.
Surviving are: two daughters, Donna Chase, MT, Margaret Chase, MO; three sons, David (Diane) Chase, Salamanca, NY, Mark Chase, Raymond (Felicia) Chase, both of Great Valley, NY; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda (William) Lutz, KY; two brothers, Paul (Natalie) Hicks, Lewis Hicks, both of Ellicottville, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As per Deanna’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
