OLEAN — Voices of the People movement will be holding a protest Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at Lincoln Park, working with Indivisible and Mobilize for the No Kings 2.0.
“Our protest will be held on Oct. 18th, the National Day of Protest; protesting for Rights for All Americans and for the Constitution to be upheld,” said Jessica Davis of Olean, one of the organizers.
“We ask people to bring signs and noisemakers such as whistles and bullhorns,” said Davis, a member of Voice of the people..
“This is a public event,” she said. “It will be shared publicly on social media as well as local news pages. So we do ask people to be aware of what’s going on around them for safety.”
Davis said, “Let’s come out and make this a huge event and show our politicians — both locally and federally, that we will not go down without a fight when it comes to people’s rights, when it comes to people’s health care, when it comes to American democracy.”
