Early voting days and hours are:

Sunday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 27, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 29, noon to 8 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are two countywide elections for district attorney and coroner. County Attorney Ashley Smith is unopposed on the Republican and Conservative lines to succeed incumbent Lori P. Rieman, who did not seek re-election. Kevin O’Rourke is unopposed for another term as county coroner.

The marquee race in the county is in the City of Olean, where incumbent Mayor Bill Aiello is fighting for a fourth four-year term on the independent Lincoln Party line against Olean businesswoman Amy Sherburne, who beat Aiello in the Republican primary in June and is also on the Democratic line.

Also in Olean, there are two contested races for alderman and two uncontested seats on the ballot.

The new Ward 2 Alderman, Joseph G. Keary, who is on the Republican and Conservative lines, faces Democrat challenger Rychelle L. Weseman, and in Ward 4, Alderwoman Sonya McCall, on the Democrat and Working Families lines, faces Alan Peters who is on the Republican and Conservative lines.

Ward 6 Alderman Vernon Robinson Jr., and Ward 7 Alderman David Anastasia are unopposed on the Democrat and Working Families lines.

Twenty-one of the 32 towns in the county will be voting for a supervisor, but only one is contested. In Dayton,   Republican Crystal Abers, and Conservative Thomas J. Chupa, are vying for supervisor. All 20 other supervisor candidates are uncontested.

Voters who are unable to go to the polls due to sickness or disability, or who will be out of the county on Election Day, Nov. 4, can request an absentee ballot. A link to print the application is on the Board of Elections tab on the county’s website: cattco.org. You may also request the application in person at the Board of Elections office, 207 Rock City St., Little Valley.

If you are 18 and have not registered to vote, you can obtain a mail in registration form by calling the Board of Elections at (716) 938-2400.

Two unopposed candidates for State Supreme Court in the Eighth Judicial District — Shannon Heneghan and Jorge deRosas are also listed on the ballot.
