BRADFORD, PA – Handing the Lady Terrors their first loss of the season, the Bradford volleyball team defended their home court with a clean sweep of Otto-Eldred.
Ahead of their road contest against the Lady Owls, O-E had had an immaculate start to the season, dominating four North Tier League opponents all by sweep. However, the well-seasoned Bradford squad would be their first road block.
Despite close battles through each set, the Lady Owls managed to escape unscathed, winning 25-20, 25-21 and 25-22 to earn their fourth win of the season.
Hayley Keane finished with 11 kills and two blocks while Emma Pilon and Addison Carter had 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Addison Rosendahl led the Lady Owls with three blocks alongside Aliya Corignani’s 37 assists in the win.
For O-E, Rayel Hakes tallied six kills and four blocks along with nine digs, while Baylee Francis recorded 11 digs and four kills. Emma Button ran the offense with 20 assists.
Falconer 3, Olean 0
OLEAN, NY – In their second game of the season, the Huskies fell back to 0.500 with a loss in clean sets to the Golden Eagles.
Haylie Bednarski led Olean with 18 digs while Ariana Finch posted the same number in assists, also tallying five digs. Elizabeth Bailey and Kaylin Kratts both had 10 digs in the loss, with Bailey also ending with seven kills. Ava Moses finished with five kills and six digs.
Port Allegany 3, Austin 0
PORT ALLEGANY, PA – Led by Peyton Gordon’s four blocks and five aces, the Lady Gators continued their flawless season start with another win, this time a sweep, over Austin.
Alongside Gordon, Lily Lehmier had nine kills, two aces and nine digs and Isla Lehmier had 22 assists, four digs, two aces and one block.

ALLEGANY, NY – The Warriors suffered their second loss in a row at the hands of the Gators, dropping in three sets, 25-13, 25-8 and 25-9.
Olean’s Acelynn Jacobs recorded 14 digs alongside Ayla Newark’s four kills.

Elk County Catholic 3, Port Allegany 0
ST. MARYS, PA – The Lady Crusaders ended Port United’s two game win streak, posting a home field shutout over the Lady Gators.
Goals from ECC came from Leah Piccirillo, Anna Lanzel and Lilly Distler while the Lady Crusaders’ goal keeper, Lillian Belaoe had 14 saves. In the net for Port, Hannah Taylor tallied 12 saves.
Olean 2, Jamestown 2
OLEAN, NY – Unable to break a deadlock through overtime, the Huskies and Eagles each were unable to add a win to their record, instead settling for a tie.
Addison Crosson put Olean on her shoulders in the second half, scoring the Huskies’ first goal of the night in the 56th minute and again in the 78th. Goalkeeper Alaina Hirliman finished with 20 saves in the win.
Falconer/CV/MG 3, Allegany-Limestone 1
FALCONER, NY – The Gators dropped to 1-4 on the season after a wave of offense by the Golden Falcons proved too much to handle.
Falconer got on the board early in the first half, scoring in the 20th minute with a goal from Madilyn Seastrum. They would then add to their lead before the break, scoring via Kylie Kress with less than 10 minutes to go. Kress would strike again midway through the final 40 minutes before A-L finally avoided a shutout with a last-minute goal from Madison Honeck.
In goal for the Gators, Kanna MacArthur ended the night with five saves.
Girl’s Tennis
Maple Grove 3, Salamanca 0
BEMUS POINT, NY – Seeing Maple Grove for the second time in less than a week, the Warriors were unable to exact revenge, losing the dual match in three.
Emelia Prey fell in the first singles, losing 6-3 and 6-1 to Meghan Lockwood, but managed some solid rallies despite the loss. Juniors Sage Huff and Betsy Leyva, who partnered up last year, joined each other in the first doubles but were unable to come out with a win, instead losing 6-2 and 6-1. In the second doubles, eighth graders Morgan Palmer and Fiona McKune dropped both sets 6-1 and 6-1.
