CHAUTAUQUA LAKE — The season has reached an end for the No. 7 seed Portville softball team as it was handed a hefty, six-inning, 13-1 defeat at the hands of No. 2 seed Chautauqua Lake in the Section 6 Class C Quarterfinals.

The Eagles out-hit the Panthers by a wide 17-4 margin with Isabella Morales, who finished 2-for-2 with an RBI, the only member of the visiting team recording multiple hits

Portville clawed a run back in the top of the fifth inning to cut their deficit to four, but seven runs in the bottom of that frame by the hosts put the game on ice.
