Loving husband, father, grandfather and son. Olean- John “Jay” Flederbach, Jr., 67, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (April 15, 2025) at Olean General Hospital.

Born May 13, 1957, he was the son of John and Beverly Flederbach, Sr. On September 21, 1991, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean, he married Linda M. Ames, who survives.

John was a 1974 graduate of Letchworth High School. Throughout the years, he provided great contracting services to the surrounding area through his business, Jays Contracting. In his free time, Jay enjoyed playing pool at the Parkwood, having cookouts and grilling with his family, going camping, going on vacation, golfing, and watching the Buffalo Bills.

He loved his family and he cherished spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Eric (Chrissy) Flederbach of Yorkshire, Alyssa (Chris) Wagner of Olean, and Autumn Flederbach of North Tonawanda; his grandchildren, Lyla Flederbach of Yorkshire, Beckham Wagner, and Callie Wagner, both of Olean; his siblings, Barbara (Ray) Gwarek of Warsaw, Valerie (Bob) Murphy of Lackawanna, Cindy (Pete) Gordon of Cheektowaga, Jackie (Jamie) Pappaceno of West Seneca, Julie (Jim) Cheman of South Buffalo and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday (April 23, 2025) from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. A funeral service will begin at 6 pm.
