WARREN — The Bradford baseball team was one hit away from shutting out Warren in an 8-0 victory in enemy territory.
The Owls were in full control from the first pitch of the game, scoring five runs between the second and fourth innings after having been blanked in the first. They carried that advantage all the way into the seventh inning where they put the icing on the cake with three more runs.
Talan Reese and Evan Whitmore led Bradford on the night, each going 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring a run and picking up an RBI. Also helping the visitors’ cause was Maksim Demic, who went 2-for-3 with a run, and Sean Ward, who went 0-for-2 at the dish, but scored a run and recorded two RBI in the winning effort.
Reese went the distance on the mound, with the one hit he conceded in the fourth frame being the only negative mark against him as he struck out 14 batters.
