Hinsdale, NY Curtiss A. Rickey, 58, of Hinsdale, passed away suddenly Monday (March 24, 2025) shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital.
Born June 24, 1966 in Olean, he was the son of August C. Rickey and Judith Luntz Smith. On June 30, 1984 in Ischua he married Pearl M. Willover who survives. Curtiss was a loving husband and father, and he enjoyed making family and friends feel welcome in his home.
He enjoyed cooking for everyone, hunting, gardening, playing pool, dancing and listening to music. He was a member of and former EMT for the Ischua Volunteer Fire Department. More recently he volunteered for the Department’s fundraising activities such as bingo. He had been employed as a cook for many years prior to truck driving most recently.
He leaves behind his wife of over 40 years, Pearl; 1 daughter, Kristen (Ryan) Bechdel of Arcade; 1 son, Michael Rickey at home; 2 grandchildren, Jackson and Hayden; 1 brother, James (Annette) Rickey of Olean; 1 sister, Linda (James) Medders of Trussville, AL, several nieces and nephews as well as several close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, Dana Rickey in 2014.
The family invites friends and family to a celebration of life to be celebrated Saturday (April 5, 2025) from 1pm-4pm at the Ischua Bingo Hall 5634 Main St, Ischua. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ischua Fire Department.
