Denis A. Songin, 88, of Randolph, passed away Thursday, (January 16, 2025) at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown.
He was born March 29, 1936, in Buffalo, the son of the Stanley George and Frances A. (Gorney) Songin.
Denis was a 1953 graduate of Bishop Timon High School. He retired from Arcata Graphics in Depew after 30 years of service. After retirement he had worked for the Post-Journal and as a bus driver for Falconer Central School.
He was a Communicant of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where he served in the Choir. He was a member of the Randolph Fraternal Order of Masons Lodge 359, Ismaili Temple, Jamestown Consistory and the Scottish Right.
His interests included, fishing, hunting and boating
Denis is survived by his Companion; Carmela Jerabek, a daughter; Joanne Williams of Glenwood, three sons; Robert Songin (Lisa) of Rochester, Anthony Songin of Florida, Thomas Songin of San Francisco, CA, two grandchildren; John and Katie Songin and siblings;
Gregory and Linda.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday (January 25, 2025) from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Randolph, Rev. Marcin Parada will be the Celebrant. Burial to follow in the Steamburg Cemetery, Town of Coldspring, NY.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4- 6:30 Friday (Jan. 24, 2025) from the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, NY 14772. A Mason service will follow the visitation at 6:30 Friday in the funeral home.
